Help identify this very different MFI pump

I aquired this a few years ago in a closeout purchase and only just started opening some of the last few boxes of old Porsche stuff. Normally I have no problem quickly identifying a Porsche part. But this on has me stumpt. Can anyone help identify this one. I pictured it next to a standard .015 pump for comparison. Could it be a factory race pump. Notice the size of the drive gear. Also note that the upper id plate has no provision for a # and the side mounted id plate is a standard issue with a common # to the pump body this was built on. I already looked that one up. And it came back as an E pump or something. But that # is irrelavent as far as I can see.
Here is a few shots from a few angles. Lets see who has the knowledge. I know someone out there does.

I would be suprized if it was Mercedes because it was a Porsche only specialist that I got it from. But I suppose its possible. Im waiting for Grady or Warren to respond. You know the "MFI" in the title will lure him in. Not that your any lightweight in the Porsche knowledge area. Those guys will dig deep to answer this if they have to.

i've seen that knurled idle mix knob on mercedes, is all i know. the side mount bracket would mount it next to maybe a 6 cylinder inline, like mercedes.

Kurt,

The custom pressure cell in place of the aneroid tells me its set up for a turbo engine. The large Gilmer belt pulley probably indicates it was driven from the crankshaft so it needed a 2:1 ratio. The mounting bracket looks homemade. The bolts that attach the pump to the bracket appear to have safety wire holes in SAE fashion, what are the threads? The six Nyloc nuts that attach the Gilmer pulley to an aluminum hub appear SAE. The banjo bolt for the “inboard” fuel supply is larger than any Porsche one I’ve seen. The “outboard one isn’t a Banjo. What is the wrench size? The height of the fuel piston housing appears taller than normal. What are the two dimensions?

There seems to be some sort of adjustable idle stop in the fuel lever. Is it homemade? I have never seen this feature on a Porsche application.

The timing cover is very different from any Porsche one I have seen: No provision for thermostat, raised boss for main mixture adjustment, solenoid in the cold start enrichment position and not in the overrun shut-off position, the screw-in idle adjust and finally the unusual casting alongside the idle adj.

I’ll speculate that it is a Bosch pump from some donor other than Porsche and has been modified and adapted for a 6-cylinder turbocharged or supercharged engine. I don’t think that mounting bracket would fit a 911 in any configuration but might fit an in-line six.

The only way I could identify a Mercedes, Audi, BMW or VW part is by the hood emblem.
