Extended Warranty?
I just bought a new car ( since my old 911 T is not a daily driver ). I can get a " Toyota platinium coverage good for 6 years/100000 miles for $ 1,000.00 . What do you think about extended Warranty? Does anyone ever purchased one and got their money worth through covered repairs? Is there another trully reliable company that will be there for the long haul?
Thanks |

i just purchased one for my wife's "beemer." it extends it to 90K total(40K more) or six years...for $1,400.00 through bmw. from my past experinces where my warranties ran out something always broke, call it bad luck, like the entire steering colum on my 97 jeep grand cherokee, would of only cost me $50 for the deductible, but ended up costing me around $1,000.00...the same type of problem occured on my vw passat that my wife drove, the warranty expired, and several months later, needed some major work done to the brain, this cost me $600.00 this why i just extended the warranty on her 328i...if one part goes out like the steering or tranny, the price of the warranty will pay for itself, plus the extended warranty helps in the re-sale value, ask any dealer. sorry for the long, rambling answer, but i'm a true beleiver in extended warranties...good luck!

oh-yea, regarding the part about reliable companies around that will last...check with several dealers or even the banks like bank of america or bank one, they all have excellent products to offer, and banks usually only offer reliable companies with a track record.
