idling problem
I have an 86 carrera when it hits operating temp. It accelerates on its own, when I press or release the clutch it will accelerate for a couple of seconds. I thought it was the floor mat push up against the gas pedal, but it still does it.
Any thoughts? Thanks, jinkatin |

Are you saying fluctuating idle or engine revs up like the throttle is stuck?
If fluctuating it could be many things but I would check the cylinder head temp sensor. I just replaced mine after chasing a idle problem for some time.

You need to rebuild the pedal assembly with new bushings.
