Idle speed problem in 3.6 conversion
Hello,
I am having problems with the idling speed on my 3.6conversion. It is a 97 993 Euro vario engine. idling speed is high about 1100-1200 RPM. But, this is not the only problem. Today I went out fora ride and at one point the car remained accelerated at about 2500 RPm, then slowly went down. It did it a couple of times. I had reset the idling speed (by deiconnecting the battery) but the problem persists. I have a Cintex chip. Any idea what can be wrong?? Thanks

Did you recently install the chip? Cyntex has had some issues related to the rev limiter (early engagement). But normally, the idle speed is also programmable on the chip.

Are you sure your throttle cable isn't sticking? I hope this isn't a dumb question, I have no history or knowledge of your install.
If you've checked the throttle cable and that the throttle is resting on the idle stop, you can remove the Idle air valve (block the vacuum side) and see what happens. I'm thinking maybe your Idle air valve is going haywire. Doug
