A/C delete started

I've just started my A/C delete project and have so far removed the decklid condensor and the compressor. What's the best way to get the hoses out? Any tips?

see my last post:
A/C delete, nearly there............

Just carefully remove everything. I started with the compressor then the hoses- there's heaps!
I'll let you decide how you're gonna get the compressor bracket out!

Let me know if you get stuck.

Currently I've got everything out but that's not the end of it!

I have now removed the decklid condensor, compressor, evaporator, receiver/dryer and all the hoses (had to cut the long ones). I left the compressor bracket for now - will remove it when I change my muffler.

My car did not have the condensor in the front - at some point a condensor with a cooling fan was put in the left wheel well by PO and it was a total bastard to remove.

Being a ROW car the evaporator box was in the passenger side footwell. I pulled it out, removed the evaporator and then reinstalled the box as I wanted to keep the fan. I left everything else in the footwell in place.

Should I remove anything else from the footwell? Did I miss anything?

Total weight savings so far 26kgs. I also removed the rocker panels for another 4kgs - can't put them back on as one of the brackets rusted out. I'm still undecided if I want to leave it that way.

Took her out for a test run after all the work was done and she feels great!

Nice job!
I was quite surprised at how light it feels with A/C gone, spare & tools out with 1/2 tank gas.
Whack in a strut tower brace and get yourself some turbo tie rod ends.
My next move is race seat & 4 point harnesses, SSI's & M + K muffler, backdate heat, and there's nearly 10 kilos in the window washer tank.
Can you PM me with your email address?
I need to ask you something?
cheers,
Phil

Hi Phil,
I just pm'd you.
Yes, weightloss feels great!
I'm thinking along the same lines as you - I've got the strut brace already and also a smaller window washer tank. M&K is on my list - luckily I already have SSis. I'm also thinking about fibreglass bumpers for further weight reduction. Maybe an IROC look, but I'm not yet sure about that. And of course race seats and harness.

I have not done anything yet. Some previous threads have mentioned using aluminium with some sealant or adhesive foam backing and then screwing them in. See this thread also A/C delete, nearly there............

They didn't address the little screw holes all over the car where the lines were attached. I already put a plate in where the front condensor fan was.

Lots of hardware. Could I just get some rubber plugs or use black caulk?
