3.2 with Webers - Distributor Issue

Howdy All,

I have recently bought a 87 3.2 and droped it in my car. The car runs great but I think the distributor needs to have the curve set correctly. I currently have a 2.2 distributor in the car running electronic points. Who is the best person to do the recurving? Whats the best distributor to get if I am looking for one off the shelf? Is this even possible?

Thanks for any insight I can get. = )

Eric

Get in touch with the guys at PMO. They will be able to tell you who to go to for re-curving your distributor.

2.4, 2.7, 3.0, 3.2 distributors fit in a nominal 30.0 mm bore in the case, and the distributor's shank for 2.0 and 2.2 engines is smaller, IIRC 28.0 mm.

Engine doesn't sound like it is built to stock specs. Before recurving the distributor, I'd put the car on a chassis dyno to find the optimum spark advance for your engine through the rpm/load range. Aim for a few degrees less for real-world driving and octane variables, then send your distributor and the timing advance chart to Steve Weiner to modify.
