torn sway bar mount
So I have a torn sway bar mount on the passenger side of my '75 911s. I checked out the replacements made by weltmeister and they indicate that they are for '78 and later cars. Any suggestions short of fabricating a new mount?

I used the Wevo product on my 76 targa and they're fantastic. But, the mounts that were sent to me required the collars and bushings from an SC (78-83), which is an easy swap. I'm not sure if Wevo makes mounts specific to the middle year setup. You should contact elephant racing to find out.

Hey guys, what does it cost to get these Wevo mounts welded on?

Tom Amon welded mine for me (in my garage) and I seem to remember him charging about 2 hours in labor, and that was to replace both sides.

I have a 76 911 with very little rust except on the swaybar mounts... and particularly my passenger side gave way a couple of months ago. I almost went for the whole stiffer replacement kit.. but instead ended up having a buddy of mine weld it back very simple weld and strong too. If rust is your issue.

Paul-
Tom does house calls in the Bay Area. His website is www.mobileworkswest.com. I think he lives in your neck of the woods. |

The WEVO mount is a very nice product. Be wary that it may not solve all your problems if you haven't upgraded your torsion bars to something fitting of your service conditions, and instead you up the sway bar torsional rigidity making something else a weaker part.

Just got back from my friends place, he welded the piece back on and told me that if I get the Wevo upgrades to bring them on by and he'll weld them on for me. He checked the other sway bar mount and surprisingly it looks in good conditiion. I'll keep my eyes on them for now.
