Where does this part go?
So, I was replacing the steering shaft bearing. I had the plastic T-shaped plenum off the blower fan under the windshield wipers off. When I went to button things up I noticed this little W-shaped clip or spring thingee laying on the panel where the smuggler's box clasp is riveted. I couldn't see anything obvious so I thought I would ask the experts.

I win!!!! It's a spring that holds the vent directional vanes in place. This would be the center dash vent. I took mine out recently to clean and had to rethread this fine piece of engineering. yours probably fell down the hose and came out when you disassembled the unit.
What do i win?
