Confirm Hall Sensor is trigger in SC & signal description?
I am having a bear of a time tracking down some ignition noise. I am going back to square 1 to be sure I haven't made any silly assumptions or mistakes.
I was positive my stock 1982 or 83 distributor uses a Hall sensor. It had the infameous "green wire" which was cracked and corroded, which I've replaced with sheilded wire and new connectors. However I am not getting the expected results. Also, Megasquirt stated most Hall sensors have 3 wires, causing me further concern. Is it actually a VR sensor? Can anyone describe the actual signal? Is it - and + or just 0 and +? Or something else? thanks all

John:
SC's do not use Hall sensors for ignition triggering, its a simple magnetic pickup; + and -.
