sc idle problem

i have replaced the small vacume hoses on my car and the idle now stays at about 2500rpm,on the right side of the engine behind the aux air valve is a valve that is refered to as the "manifold vacume limiter" if i remove the small vacume line and plug it the idle is normal. any ideas?
thanks

On my SC I think that valve is the decel valve. I had the same high idle problem so I eliminated the valve.

I think I did too. It sits over #5 and #9 cylinder heads I think. It had a piece of plastic in the vacuum hose. I replaced the hose, then found I had to replace the little plastic (PO's) plug in order for the engine to return to idle quickly.

Decel valve, huh?
