The Board is now Closed -> all Questions have been answered -? use the search button

Well it probably could.
If it wanted to.
And almost everything has been answered.
Ken, just as you suggested, pelican keeps on going almost as much for its social networking as its technical expertise.

Agreed - When I want to read up on technical info, I now go to the engine building forum. Very little technical content here anymore.....Too much: Look what's on ebay, I got a ticket, someone cut me off on the freeway, look at my wheels, etc...

LOL. Don't forget Wayne doesn't mind selling a part or two now and then, either.
Nice to see you out there Sunday on the Fall run.!

When was the last time you saw some people helping a guy who got his front hub races jambed only 1/16th from the bottom?
Go search that.

How about Guards Red spray cans? Lots of threads on that, I presume.

And I'm going to ask a question later about using different spark plug temps in the same engine. You think there might be 2 dozen threads on that?

No, it's an evolution in the making and 75% of my posts are informational in nature. Warren (early_s_man) is 99% business and vital at that. So is Bill Verburg, Wil Ferch and dozens of others I have a lot of respect for. Where can you find an expert like Jim Sims on fasteners? We have at least 2 very knowleable oil products guys.

Every now and then we get a treat on body work by (Armando?). The list goes on

Oh, and I forgot, there's bound to be another Jack Olsen aerodynamics thread. God, that last one was a treatise on aero engineering.

I know this was meant humorously but not too far from true.

In three years I have about 30-40 pages (MS Word) of links on diverse subjects like distributors, MFI, 2.2 clutches, etc. I have gravitated to the format that has the link as a url with the thread name in quotes and a brief description. I’m trying to use all the important key words in the description so as it gets too long for me to remember where things are, I can use MS Word Find function.

I think every time someone goes to the effort to use the Pelican Search function and review all the threads you come up with, it is invaluable to post the links in order of importance for your particular interest. That allows others to copy and past the links to their search.

This brings up the issue of jargon. The use of jargon makes searching more difficult. There is also the issue of the Pelican limitation on not using 2-letter key words to search on. This eliminates the ability to search for “CV” in place of “constant velocity” and many more.

It is up to all of us to help make the archive more useful and easily searchable.

I don’t think we will ever solve all the problems. Almost every issue presents unique problems. I learn many things every day.

Best,
Grady

I'm gonna start an appreciation thread. I certainly am remiss in not mentioning Grady, John Walker, Steve Weiner. Many more, I can't get them all.

Sure, I know this was all in jest, but it brings to the point that there is a LOT of talent here.
