Best source for adhesive to secure emblems to body of 911
I've searched, but could not find a good answer.
With the cold weather coming in Chicago, I've had the same result on 2 of my older vehicles in the last 2 weeks. In short, external METAL emblems that are attached to metal will fall off -- I'm guessing due to the weather changes we've had. What is the best adhesive to secure "911SC" to the rear of the my metal teacup spoiler? The screws broke off many years ago, and the PO used an adhesive. Brand and best source for adhesive would be appreciated. Thanks all!

Anyone? I've got the same problem with my car, and need to attach the emblem with adhesive.

I used a black, double-sided foam tape that was designed to withstand temperature extremes. I had it on hand from a product I designed and sold years ago.
I believe you can get a similar tape at autobody supply stores. You can trace the emblem image onto the tape, cut and stick. The tape will be easier to remove in the future as well.

Auto shops sell double-stick tape for installing emblems. It's thin and strong. Line up your emblem where you want it and use masking tape to outline the edges before you install. Once it's pressed in place you cannot adjust the position. You can remove the emblems with a piece of fishing line, just saw back and forth to cut through the mounting tape. The residue can be safely removed with WD 40 and denatured alcohol, but that will remove the wax, also.
Hope that helps. Regards,

Thanks for all the suggestions all -- will the tape withstand the wild chicago weather variations?

I used the hard type of double sided tape you can fid at autopart store. The plastic piece is red and the tape itself is gray. After several months, I couldn't even pull it off.
