dash swapping

Can anyone tell me which year models (particularly 70's -80's) would share dashes? Ie: can I put a '77 dash in a '73, etc? Are there any peculiarities in mounting, etc? Hope someone can share their knowledge here...

I think 77' in a 73' would work. Before 72/73' the stud spacing was a little different but can be worked around using a drill to add a couple extra holes.

Yep the stud spacing is different on the face, and also on the top where the stud sticks down behid the gauges.

Also, you'll need to cut a square hole so the center vent will fit. '77 was the first year for the center vent.

Backwards, but you can see the difference between them here:

Early dash in an SC:

On the right the stud on the dash is hiding just between the vent opening and the mounting hole.

Hope this helps
