Call Becker of NA in upper saddle river. You can purchase the navigation CDs from them, but not the radios. I purchased some older gen Mexico's from ebay, and boy are they nice. Right now I have an online pro in my car, and it matches the interior perfectly! In my opinion becker is the only way to go. They are the only clean radios available that compliment the porsche dash.

THANKS:)
The Mexico 7948 takes CF cards for the maps instead of CDs. I will have to see if they are copy protected or if I can just copy them to a card. Thanks again.

I've seen the price before, and it's definately in the "if you have to ask" category!

$1,700 is not in the "if you have to ask" catagory. A new GT2 is in the if you have to ask catagory.

Wow, that radio is the coolest, quite pricey, but for the stuff you get...

ERH 03-21-2007 01:39 PM

Julian is about 100 GBP cheaper than the eBay site.... although cheap is not the correct word I would feel comfortable sending him payment (no affiliation).

The Becker US navigation CDs are not copy protected but I have not tried my copy on a CF card, yet. Hopefully with in the next week I'll let you guys know if US maps for the Mexico are easy or require more work.

working on the flares...

you know we can't leave well enough alone... in the interest of getting steel 930 flares to feel more like historic RSR flares, the saws and welder came out again.

This is what I'm talking about - (notice the profile of the flares)RSR:
(where have I seen this car before?)

and the dash-backdate coming along...

notice the 1972 steering column graft with stock controls and wheel! (as well as the period-correct switches being test-fitted)
- the correct guages come next.
