Who makes these headers?

They look like George's European Racing Headers, but have a different collector before the extension.

Current version of George Narbel's headers (thanks Dart Auto for the nice picture)

The headers in question. Note the different collector.

I'm sure i've seen this collector before, but I can't remember. They're not Bursch and they're not SSI without the heat shrouds.

Thanks!

I've got a set of Triad headers that I can check tonight, but they look like Triad:

No problem. You can have the good memory...as long as I have the faster lap times

Even those headers won't make you faster than Maximus! LOL!

Just kidding, did you buy those?

Not buying them for speed. They're for sound. I thought I might buy them if they are useful. That's why I asked who makes 'em. If I have headers then I can avoid being pressured to run the Elbow.

I got plenty of rubber for next season Jim. AO32 up front and fresh Victoracers for the rear. Why two different kinds you ask? Discount pricing. A full set of new 225/245-16 front/rear tires for ~$300. Top that, Toyo spokesman!

Not to be off topic, but how does the car handle with mis-matched tires? I've got Bursch headers on my 911, BTW.

Handles as you would expect. It either pushes or oversteers depending on where you put the stickier tires!

I ran Victoracers in front and Michelin Pilot Sport Cups in the rear at the track last season for one event and the car understeered a good bit under power thru high speed turns. But I was still fairly fast. It was very predictable so there was no danger that I could see happening. Plus i'm a very conservative/non-aggressive driver.

We'll see how the Yoko/Victo combo works in May. I predict it'll be more of the same since I think the Yoko A032 H compound has less ultimate grip than the Victoracer. This claim is based on how i've seen the others Yokos wear vs. the Kumhos.

Jerry,

I didn't have the same mis-matched combo that Kevin will have, but I did run Kumho 700's and 710's at the same time. Sure they are same brand, and probably not that much different in construction. I didn't think they were bad.

IMO, unless you are running slicks and streets, most slick-slick combos will be fine for the DE antics. The margin just isn't that great unless you are chasing a trophy...or paid to drive. You learn the limits of the tires and how your car handles with the mis-match combos...and then you just go.

The die hards will scream blasphamy, but let's be realistic. There is no podium ceremony at the end of the day. And even if there was a ceremony, there is no prize money. So idots like Kevin and myself just slap on what we can get our hands on and go. Except I go faster than Kevin

Edit: wait! There is a trophy....and I am holding on to it until someone goes faster. LOL!

Souk,

Good to hear from you. The green meanie is resting in Wisconsin, waiting for warmer days! I plan to spend more time at Autobahn and BFR this summer (instead of working so much). Road America's just too hard on my car with the short gears; it really runs nice at the usual tracks, however. I run out of RPMs 2/3rds down the long straights. I'm not chasing podiums either, but don't like surprises at the limit of adhesion.

Surprises are bad I'll be looking for you at the track. It's going to be a long winter waiting for the first track day!

Cheers,

Someone was faster. But it just adds insult to injury when you give someone a dorky trophy after they just banged up their car......... But let's not take anything away from Soukus. He was the fastest of the group of 3.2 Carrera-like cars. Only Josh was the non 3.2 pre-89 car in our pack that weekend, no?
