Looks good and inspires me to redo my car, if I only had the room and a garage.....

Paul, excellent work! Where do you guys in Scandinavia source your restoration sheet metal parts?

Nice work Pål.

I have stripped the tub on my 78 and found rust in only a few places, unfortunately one was the torsion bar tube.

Now I am trying to sort out my welding skills and develop a plan to reinforce the affected areas of the tube. Which leaves the front wheel wells just sitting there all empty and alone.

But eventually they will look a lot like yours, except maybe blue instead of red, so as not to clash with the rest of the car.

Keep it up, good luck.

Scott

Brian, I get all my restoration metal from an old friend in the UK who does restoration work. I have not tried to locate a supplier here in Sweden as I get the parts at cost from my friend in the UK.

Good luck with the work Scott. Please post some pictures when you get going. My big hurdle was the welding, but with some guidance and lots of practice on scrap metal, I am now confident to work on the car. Not good, but I can do the work that will not be visible

I will try to get the other side completed this week, and then I have to look at finding a replacement fuel tank. And then I will turn my attention to the rear suspension - I hope to have the job done before next summer...

Happy, happy, happy :)

Last night was another nice beer point, Getting to see my car back on all 4 RUF Speedlines again after half a year in the air. I know the ride height is all wrong, and the tracking is a real disaster. And there are still some outstanding front end projects like completing the bumper and valance, fitting new oil cooler, new fuel tank etc - but it is enough to permit me to enjoy a short moment of joy whilst I plan the projects.

Now that I have done so much reconditioning and upgrades to the front, it would be bad of me to not attack the rear end as well.
Due to the restricted space I have in my small garage, I am forced to turn the car round to be able to comfortably work on the rear end - so here is my close future major tasks:
.- Drop engine and transmission and store in a safe place. Once I have completed the rear suspension etc, I might consider some engine work
.- Pull car out of garage and give a good clean, it really needs it.
.- Turn car round and push it back into the garage ass first.
.- jack up car and start attacking the rear end

I will post back when phase II commences

Fantastic work!!!! Its really coming together...I find that half the fun in the is working on the car and the other half is driving it...so much more rewarding.

Thank you!!

Not a lot to update with at the moment Radu. Most of my work recently has been related to rectifying strange electrical work conducted by past owners I am also updating the headlight circuit to contain the much required relays. So there is therefore no update pictures to post at the moment.... Apart from the replacement air box that I recived from Smart Racing recently

But the project will slowly be progressing during this year. My plan is to have her back on the road for next summer, but I know there is still a long way to go, and a lot for me to educate myself on to get there!!
