I've only done it because of what Joeaska said--email notification.
My global notification is turned off because it can be a hassle to get a thousand emails on the same thread (can't remember if pp only sends one until you visit the thread). If I want to get an email notification, check the "email notification" option box. J

When you post on a thread, it pops up in the list of threads with a black dot -- making the marked ones easy to find.
If you subscribe, it spams you with Email and doesn't even tell you what the post was (as noted above). What we need is something that will mark the threads for the users and then a "show marked" button. That would cut down on the 'subscribed' posting, and as a collateral benefit, give Wayne something to do late at night...

There may be more to this....
I never actualy subscribed to a thread but in my list theree were two of them I thought ok odd but what ever. I then recently did subscribe to a thread and one other. I just checked my lis to see if there was any "action" and low and behold I am not subscribed to anything, nothing, zip. ????? I don't get it. I just hope it is not me doing something stupid.
