Cast Fuchs..what size would you like to see made?
Pick your desired wheel size and application. Vote for as many sizes as you'd likely purchase.

I want 9' and 10' for my SC..... I know, it will be a little more custom than most SC's.

As a mass produced wheel I think the 7.5/9.0 sizes planned are the best course. Easy fit equals happy customers. These are the sizes I run on the track and have no complaints.

7.5 and 9s are fine, but need 50-55 offset and brake clearance for 993.

I'll buy the original 7.5 and 9 x 17s that Mosers will be offerening myself but they aren't the most tire you can stuff under an SC/Carrera, 8 and 10 is.
Slider you'll never get a set of 9 and 10s under an SC fender :) but it is a good thought. The 10 can be tight in the back but the 9 is really too big up front. Even though you can't get the street tires that fill them out correctly any more a set of 8/9 15s look cool and be fun with sticky rubber! 9's won't go under a narrow body but an 8" will with some work. Jeff might be because you run BBS which are 7.5 and 9 :) Fikse's are typically 7.5 or 8 and 9 or 9.5s depending on when you bought them and also work fine with zero fitment problems. Jon sounds like Moses has already solved the brake clearance issues on the original 7.5/9s. He is using the Fikse on his car as a model. If so, there will be no clearance issues. |

Actually I build my wheels to my own specs for offset and clearance and I faxed this info to Moses to use for brake clearance (brembo GTP) :)

If the first sets go over well, wider wheels (10", 11") are a very real possibility.

SC/Carreras ARE early cars. The offsets/brakes changed in '89 for ABS. Early cars have 10-25mm offsets, late cars have 50-65mm offsets.

In front, 7.5" is the "safe" width but I run/ran 8" Ruf and Fikse on my Carrera. I'd buy 8&9x17 if I was shopping for wheels.

I have run 8's & 9.5's on my SC the way it is. I plan on building my car into an F-prepared PCA car so a little fender flaring (massaging) is permitted within the rules. That's how I plan on running 9's & 10's. |

I have a buddy who is a body & paint guy and we are going to run a baseball bat under the fenders to stretch the metal and then hammer and dollie the correct shape back in to gain the 3/4 inch that I need. The other 1/4 inch that is needed was gained when I upgraded my brakes (993) and the hubs that I used moved the offset in a 1/4 inch. I have run 245's on the front without rubbing already, and I am just trying to get a 255 on a 9 inch wheel.... http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif |
