L33P - Iris Blue Poly (metallic) - only offered in '85 and '86.

Haven't seen another in person.

BTW, pictures are from P.O.

This is, in fact, the first time I've posted pics of the whole car!

WOW!! Fantastic Chris.

I think light blue metallic is a pretty rare color. I've only seen 2 others with the same color as mine. If I had to guess on the most common color it would have to be guards red.

65_lincoln 01-22-2007 09:40 AM

L35Y -- Lagoon Green (Lagunengruen) Metallic, which I believe was available only in '87 and '88. I have never seen another one in person, but from this board I know that there are a couple around other parts of the country in the same color.

IROC 01-22-2007 09:58 AM

I think Continental Orange is pretty rare. I've had my car for going on 14 years and have never seen another one in person. I know of at least 2 other pelicans with Continental Orange cars and know of 2 others outside of Pelican, but that's it.

Orange cars ROCK!

M491driver 01-22-2007 10:54 AM

How about a paint to sample blue that changes color in different lighting?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1169492060.jpg

I have never seen one. Have a pic?

65_lincoln 01-23-2007 03:46 PM

I do have a pic of my Lagoon Green Targa! It actually looks blue to me, but in different light it changes to various greenish-tints of blue. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1169595966.jpg

John,

Your "Lagoon Green Targa" looks damn close to Hellblau Metallic.
Light blue metallic code 30T.

Hey Type911,

From these photos, it sure does look close! When I first checked the paint code on mine, I thought it may have been resprayed bluer; but in seeing photos of the Lagoon Greens that Massa, Swbsam, and Bearded Viking have, they look the same. Additionally, looking under carpet and such, it's the original color.

But there's something so much cooler about the name Hellblau than Lagunengruen!

P.S. are those 9s on the rear? they look great! I'm running 7s/8s, but someday I'll get a pair of 9s.

Type911 01-24-2007 07:44 AM

Hi John,

Yes 9's in the rear, 7's up front.

81 911 SC 01-24-2007 11:31 AM

We once had a Targa painted Seamist Green. Don't know the color code but I have never seen another car painted that color.

austin552 01-24-2007 03:21 PM

Those 9's really fill the space and look great! Great shots of the car in different climates also.

AngM018 01-24-2007 10:11 PM

what about Tobacco Brown? I'm not sure if that is the official factory color name, but thats what excelence magazine called it, and is the color of my 79 930. Haven't been able to find another one like it in my area yet.

austin552 01-25-2007 03:16 AM

Yes that is a 1979 factory color. It is a M.B. color also. Got a pic?

andreas panayio 01-25-2007 04:41 AM

Continental orange

I am not sure if mine is continental orange or some other type.
I bought it 6 years ago and of course I have no idea how the colros was 25 years ago.
I about to paint it now and I would rwally like to see how the original paint is. My paint is really faded right now.
Anybody got anything similar?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1169728889.jpg

Rouxzy 01-25-2007 04:55 AM

Here is a pick of my "77 in Ice Green Metallic. It is tough to tell but it has a glass finish and has never seen wax in 4 years. When the restorer painted it for me he put on about 12 coats of clear. He said just a good buffing once a year is all I need.

Leaf Green is a pretty un-common color. Changes to several hues of green depending on the lighting conditions.
One of my favorites :D

How about this paint job

Well, guess it's not a 911 but it is a custom paint job on a Porsche www.officialjanis.com/porsche.html http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1169758594.jpg

Fun thread to read:)

Re: Peru Red

Man, there is NOTHING as nice as an early car in Leaf Green. I like a lot of the early colors a lot - Irish Green, AUbergine, Signal Orange...but Leaf Green has to be my absolute favorite.
