Door lock: ive read posts but still . . .

Ive read many of the posts on the door locks/acutuator. Recently replaced passenger side door actuator and all was working great. In fact, still does, both sides open and lock properly and efficiently with my alarm clicker or the red button on the console.

The key works fine as well to lock or unlock. Thing is, the door handle is sticky/gummy and the lock wheel won't turn--- what's up with that?

(if this is somewhere and i missed it please put the link and accept my apologies- thanks!)

John-Carlos,
I just had the passenger side door handle off my '85. The screw thar holds it all together backed off.
I noticed the lever was sticky and gummy. Basically got it off the car, sprayed it with W-40, blew it out with compressed air, loosened and retightened the screw holding it together. It finally loosened up.
Essentially cleaning out 20 years of gunk.
Be very careful if you dis-assemble the parts. There is a small spring easy to lose.
Also if the tumbler is installed upside down the micro switch does not work correctly. Ask me how I know.
