Question Stalling problem

Hello again, All: Many thanks for the prior help in diagnosing and correcting the engine smoking problem. The patient is still my '77 911 powered by an '82 3.0 non-turbo. When I bought the car, the previous owner stated that he had a problem with the car 'stalling out' on the freeway (expressway, motorway, autobahn, etc). He then parked it for 3 years. I did a 'service' and found the car to run quite well (after draining off about 2-3 extra qts of oil to stop the smoking). I took it on various local runs without incident. When I finally took it on the freeway, after 5 or 6 miles, it died at speed as though the ignition had been cut. After pulling to the side of the road and setting, key on, for about a minute, it immediately started and ran fine. After a mile, same thing. Repeated above and after a 1/4 mile same thing. Finally it would not start until I let it set for 1/2 hour. I immediately suspected a blocked fuel tank vent, as I had experienced similar symptoms in my old Jag 'E' and a new gas cap fixed it. I replaced the fuel pump, inline fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, gas cap, plug wires, spark plugs, cleaned injectors. I reset timing, I felt for overheating coil and ignition module. Still doing it.
Definitely busting my chops. Any thoughts on what I may have overlooked? Is there an in-tank filter? A filter between pressure reg and fuel distributer? ARRRGGGHHH!! Thanks, BB.

My '74 did this a few times and it turned out to be the PermaTune CD unit, which I replaced with a Bosch CD unit. No problems like that since...
