RSR Engine compartment question

The engine is going back into the RSR replica and I wanted to know if the originals had the sound deadner/heat sheild in the firewall. I am temptedto leave it there. What is correct and what would you do?

Thank you for all your help!,
Mark

Correct = no deadener. But if you drive the car at all, I'd recommend keeping it. It does reduce cabin noise that can get annoying on anything longer than the shortest of trips.
