where should this vent line go?

I was replacing my vent hoses in the trunk and in the fender and can't seem to see where the small vent hose that runs from the top of the canister in the LF fender - through the fender back into the trunk and then down alongside the gas tank. Where does this line go - or where should it go - I do not want to pull on it in case it comes off from somewhere hard/impossible to get to easily. This is the small vent hose on a 1976 911/912E. The large hoses were easy - had a slight smell of gas on fillups, no leaks at the sender.

I have looked in the manuals and none describe this well or at all.

Thanks

Thanks

It goes into the space down behind the fuel tank (where one's hand won't fit) and then through a rubber grommet in the front "firewall". It then connects to another line that runs through the tunnel and then eventually (via another length of small hose) to the charcoal cannister on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Look behind the driver's floor board near the gas pedal to find the hose on the inside of the front "firewall". Use the old line to pull the new one through or you'll be pulling the gas tank.

Is there a hardline in the tunnel that has tubing at each end then? I will have to check at the rear to see if this line is hooked up to the black tank .

Glad I did not pull too hard and see what happened - even though we have all done that at one time or another!
