What is the best way to remove primer from rubber??
I have this car and the PO orimered the heck out of it. I have removed the bumpers and the bumper smile and gaskets. They are sprayed with primer. The rubber looks good underneath so I dont want to ruin it. Thanks for the help!!

You may want to try brake fluid - it shouldn't harm rubber, but it'll weaken paint.

Just so you know, Goo gone does not work.
I used 3m adheasive remover in a spray can. Good luck.

Its nasty stuff so wear gloves. Worst comes to worst if you do not want to buy new rubber and the bumper filler is already primered paint it with a flexible additive in your color. (Spray-able Plasdip Multi-Purpose Rubber Coating) works well and is durable. If the primer doesn't have any flex additive it will crack eventually. If the PO just shot primer all over I would expect this is the case. Do not use brake fluid. BF is designed for certain rubber parts such as neoprene and will cause other rubber parts to swell.

The primer is old and is cracking off in the extra dry spots. I was hoping it would all flake off but its really on there in a couple places. I didnt want to use a chemical that was going to break down the primer and have it bond with the rubber. Replacement bumper smile ETC for the turbo could be pricey.
