I received the photo from a seller in GA when I was Porsche hunting last year.

I thought it was neat so I saved a copy.

Sephia must just be "too common"?

TerryH,
Greetings from a former life-long Whittierite! Can't exacly tell from that shot but the tower looks sorta like Lutheran Towers in Uptown, am I close? I used to live up on Eastridge Drive (Christmas Tree Lane) until my divorce in '00.

Anyway, I like your Chiffon car very much. I think having those Fuchs lips polished against the black centers might really pop against the understated color. Just my $.02, lots of guys dont' care for polish anymore...not me! Maybe I'll run in to you (not literally) at a local run.

Fritz, I would have thought I wouldn't like Periwinkle but man that looks great...and truly unique. Is it a factory color? Paint to sample? The flares with rock guards and the polished 7's and 8's (I think?) look awesome on that car, congratulations. I would love to see it in person.

Fritz 02-28-2007 07:32 PM

Hi Dan,

I forgot to say it's not mine but a pic I saw and kept cause like you, I think it looks great.

BTW...I am a former Pasadena person. Wife was born there and we lived there 9 years after marriage. We lived in Bungalow Heaven neighborhood. Old Town is great nowdays but it was fun back when Ernie Jr's taco house was there too and when Snotty Scotty played at the Loch Ness. Or when David Lee Roth hung out at the Burger place on Arroya Pkwy. Before your time in Pasadena I suppose.

randywebb 02-28-2007 08:00 PM

"clear with the background blurry?"

IF it wasn't done in Photoshop or something, then then I'd bet that a Nikon defocussing lens was used - they have two of them in different focal lengths -- often used for portraits.

jwetering 02-28-2007 08:44 PM

Minerva Blue - surprised no one has posted it yet!

OH MAN! What is the vcolor code for THAT one? It is awesome! I know the color is helped out a bit by the reflected house color and the photo was lighted just right, but that is truly classy looking. I like it a LOT. Rennwagen, the minilites look good, truly but I like the Fuchs better. If you go with full mini's put the center caps on them, just my $.02

Bob's Project 03-01-2007 03:19 PM

How about signal orange :-)

Dan in Pasadena 03-01-2007 03:22 PM

Oh yeah, that looks nice. Any more of it? Is it done yet?

How about a few shots of that seemingly pefect teener with deep sixes too? is it a 914-6? Gonna have me one of those someday.

TerryH 03-01-2007 04:10 PM

Not close unless we pray to the god of telephone poles. :D

I'm in very south Whittier on the La Mirada border near Creek Park. This car was sold last October (see sig), but is still in my possession as the new owner is settling into a new home in Atlanta. So it could ship any time, but I'm still enjoying it in the meantime.

Dan, Did you notice the bra on Fritz's pretty periwinkle Porsche? You gotta be able to buy the hood section only from where ever he got that one.

You remember when women had their "colors" done. My wife is an "autumn" so she thinks she looks good in earth tones. Hey, it works for me!

Terry, I know exactly where yo are. Creek Park is right around the corner from Granada Middle School and Scott Avenue elementary. I went there as a kid for 1st through 6th grades. Too bad or congratulations  (?) on the sale of your car.

Fritz, Too bad its not your car...no, actually its too bad it's not MY car!:D

Funny how life is. Same thread as the comment from TerryH - I lived in Whittier my entire life until age 45. I can tell you every street, everything on the street and everything that USED to be on that street....more or less the same as you and Pasadena!

I thought I'd have a really tough time adjusting to such a relatively short distance move, but I didn't after the first few months. Pasadena in some ways is like a GIANT Whitter. Well, kinda. Whittier has gotten kinda messed up but then so have many places in SoCal. Bungalow Heaven is still a cool neighborhood. Old Town as you undoubtedly know is completely gentrified. Only old thing left (as I understand it) is the one Pawn Shop on the corner of Colorado and....Raymond? Take care, Dan
