I love that the "uncommon" colors all seem to be some metallic maroon derivative.

I've seen one maybe two 3.2's this color...
Forest Green Metalic code 22E Tannengruen has beige int.
I get a lot of comments on the color and combination

the picture I have handy is from Laguna DE

Another Ruby

Here is my 83 Ruby Red cab. It has grey-beige interior. Is there a source somewhere that tells us how many of each color were made each year. I have been interested to find out how many other Ruby Red first year cabs there are screaming down the road.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1172370583.jpg

Garnet Red Metallic used to seem a bit rare, but I see a few Pelicans have similar colours. That Mexico Blue is a total 70's blast!

rennch 02-24-2007 05:57 PM

Seriously...this is getting funny. Every one of these cars is metallic red/maroon. Clearly that color isn't quite as uncommon as you think! :)

dentist90 02-24-2007 06:01 PM

Maybe Guards Red on Black is now a rarity?? Someone should be the first to post this endangered colour!

turbobrat930 02-24-2007 06:03 PM

how about a car that is mostly carbon fiber???

Is sick a good thing??? I am thinking about painting it all back to black. It would look much more classy

rennch 02-24-2007 06:08 PM

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Sick is a good, good thing. It reminds me of that Carbon RS replica out there. I'll find a pic of it and post it.

rennch 02-24-2007 06:14 PM

Here's the carbon RS replica. Everything is carbon. His move was to accentuate the carbon by painting the "regular" (read: metal) stuff silver, and clearcoating over the carbon. It is stunning in person.

My old coral red '92. It changed between a salmon color and a burnt orange, depending on the lighting.

It is kind of funny. I have been trying to figure out the difference between my ruby red and the garnet red metallic. They seem almost a match in the right light. There is a euro color too I thik that is very similar. Saw one on here once, but can't remember te name of the color. But I guess technically, we have to go by paint name/code, right?!

I'm trying to figure out what Stormmaster's color is. Is that a Charcoal Grey with a tinge of Navy Blue? It looks frikken fantastic, like the 911 put on an Armani suit or something.

I love the Forest Green Metallic, and the Coral Red. Very nice!

Mine is Schiferblaumetallic. It has a lot of silver in it, and it turns more blue in low light.

One of the reasons I bought the car was because this color and wheel combination isn't that common, not because I it was my favorite.

thanks for posting...
Looks great!! I hate to cover the carbon up, but like I said...it would look way more classy with the carbon painted back to black. But then again, the carbon does look good!! It wil have to stay carbon for atleast this year, as I have spend all my dough on the rebuild and EFI conv...Brad

porsche911girl 02-25-2007 07:38 PM

Here's one...not mine (YET!!!) It's Lilac from what I've been told.

Tail is a GT2 unit. Does not look so good without 930 flairs if you don't already have them.

Brad - wouldn't the carbon fiber pattern show through the black paint? That would look good.

haycait911 02-25-2007 07:48 PM

wanted a bright silver, mixed PPG coarse aluminum and sparkle aluminum half and half. it took six coats of base to get it to cover. it's BRIGHT, like can't look directly at it in sunlight. silver rules! Don.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1172465205.jpg

That is the car I am going to put it on. I would not do it if not for the efficient use of the intercooler. I like the tail that is on my car now and think it looks better for the overall appearence of my car.

I would go into efficiency of the intercooler with you since I know you are more of a guru than me :) .
