Hi.

Could someone please give me some Fuchs with polished paddles instead of all-black centers? I'd be super grateful. Thanks!!!!!

Well I can't photo shop anything, but here is a car that will probably help with the vision and the decision

All black Fuchs look super 80's. I would polish them, as you can see it looks very correct.

You'll also notice it (Black centers) looks very 2006. Those Germans were ahead of the curve.

Someone please explain why you would want bright polished wheels on such a nice earlier example? Or why you'd want them on any 911...

Of course they're hot.

Hey, has anyone seen the poser paddles on some SUV? I see one everyday and I think, "Hey those look like Fuchs."

Funny, the two P-shopped pics of Jeremys car show polished Fuchs like I used to have and Fikse FM10s that I have now. Honestly I like the polished Fuchs better.

In a month I'll have 17" Fuchs reproductions on my car. I'll use the Fikses on the track.

No black centers are not 2006. Its just an option that should not be opted for. The whole painted wheel fad died down years ago but people still try do it from time to time. I think the best thing that can be done to the 80's looking fuchs is to make them look 60's by polishing or just taking off the black on the petals.

Since you asked, no matter how rhetorically, I will be happy to explain.

The answer is because the majority of black, or dark, cars benefit from the contrast of chromed, or polished wheels against the dark paint. Fortunately the monochromatic look died back in the 80's. The more traditional early Fuchs finish, but with more shine, accentuates the depth and internal shape of pedals against the wheel. Black on black loses depth and washes out the design differences in the wheel. This may be good or bad depending on 'the look' you are after.

However, taste is always a matter of subjective personal preference. All black wheels, standard finished early wheels, polished, chromed or painted to match your vehicle is all a matter of what looks good in the owner's eyes. One thing you will learn is it is far more difficult to successfully spread your point of view if you are negative. Shaming others never works, it just makes them more resistant to seeing your point of view. One only learns this with experience.

An excellent example of shaming and not persuading some one to your point of view with logic would be:

Who died and made you the gawd of wheel aesthetics?

Wow. Thanks everybody.

Remember, the question about "How do you like your wheels" is almost like "How do you like your eggs". And the thing that's so fantastic about it is that NONE of us are wrong!!! Except for the guys doing Chrome or Powder Coat on their wheels. HAHAHAHA.

Hey can somebody P-SHOP me some Centerlines or some Cragars on there? LOLOLOL

Seriously, though. Thanks everybody for the info and opinions.

Welcome back, Jeremy. Sounds like the Pelican Tour was a success. I certainly enjoyed it vicariously.

Is this the SC you had put a deposit on? Sweet ride...

I think that the polished Fuchs look great. I also think the OE finish looks nice on a silver car. My wheels are not the same color as the car but, are painted a slightly darker shade to give a little contrast.

Go with whatever makes you happy. Your car looks great.

The real reason?

Because we are all raccoons. We go gaga over shiny things. This can cover all manner of sins. From polished petals on Fuchs to more involved sins like owning a Boxster!

Ha!
(Actually you should have see the garage floor when the sender switch and the thermostat started leaking at the same time.)

Pretty weird to see that someone else had saved that photo. It is in the parking structure at the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Had to cleanup a bunch of trash and soak the sneakers to get it.
