Why all the guessing?

Jump the ignition terminal on the starter to the starter-winding terminal and see if it starts. If it does, it's the solenoid or a problem somewhere within or between the switch and the starter.

Jump the battery terminal to the starter-winding terminal. If it doesn't start, your starter is tits-up.
