911 A/C electrical problem
Hi everyone: My a/c just quite the other day, and here is what I can tell you.....
R134a level is good, compressor is new, half of the lines are new, the expansion valve is new, the fuses are good, I have replaced the main relay, but not the one in with the evap. I have power at the #2 fuse, I have constant power on 30 of the relay, and with the relay plugged in, power at relay contact 87a, and if I jump the relay, the clutch engages. I have NOT checked the switch yet. But, because this was an "instant" failure, I am at a loss, and hoped this might be a common failure. Thanks in advance for any advice or direction! Update- The relay in the "smuggler's box", next to evap., was bad. I replaced it, and everything works except................ the condensor blower. Is the relay in the trunk specifically for this?
Thanks, Paul _______________________ 84' Carrera Cab. K&N custom airbox Dansk exhaust |

Check to see if the PO installed a line fuse for the front blower. It's possible that the fuse blew coincidentally with the relay going bad. Not likely, but it's worth a shot.
