So, I'm bored to tears when I see. . .

. . . my FLOOR JACK looking pretty dejected over in the dark recesses of my garage.

A faithful companion for years, I decide to clean it up a bit - can't do anything else it raining. Besides a clean jack is a healthy jack ! Hummm, that sounds a little perverted huh.

Well you know how it is when you start a project it just becomes all encompassing and you tend to do a little more than you had planned ?

That's just NOT possible cleaning up your floor jack - or is it ?

This is what happens when you live too close to a Pep Boys and have too much time on your hands. I honestly was just going to take it apart and clean it up a bit. As you can see it got WAY out of hand and the result is what you see. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU !

That is one fine looking floor jack there Tom. Little turbo flares for the wheels would be nice if you are still bored.

Unfortunatly you may not be able to enter that into a concours competition as I do believe the paint job is non standard!
After all your hard efforts I hate to have to tell you I bought the best jack Wallmart had for $25
But it's not as sexy as yours!

Oh so now your picking on my Sears combination heavy duty workbench / washer dryer ! Don't tempt me !

In order:

JAE - I thought the flares would be over the top. Besides it has to stay functional ! This isn't just a damn good looking jack ! It works for a living.

86 ragtop - It's standard for METALLICAAAA !!

Mrdi - Now that would be tacky ! Wait - the neon lights lighting up the underside !?! Hummm, that would look *****en in the dark garage !

Jcon - I opted for the hi performance extended handle that give me am additional .000028374 cubic nonoparceps of pumping power and the flames on the handle -well they are worth at least .50 in height

Aw jeez-I laughed so hard when I saw this I had to clean off the monitor-even the wife got a kick out of it. She simply couldn't believe you got to use the washer and dryer, though-those things are off limits to me in my garage.

Even though you told me the pics were coming, I truly didn't expect this. Does it lift faster too? Hey, I think you should park that in front of you targa at the next PCA meeting.

Are you searching for a new project?
Fuchs replicas would look really cool on the jack (together with the turbo flares?)

Tom -

That looks great!! Where did you get those decals? What type of paint did you use? Did you strip the old paint? I've got a rough old jack that could use a little help. What a great project!

Hi Aubrey !

I got the dacals in the "redneck" decal section of Pep Boys right next to the "riceboy" exhaust tips and "R Type" stickers.

Tom-
With all due respect, that jack ain't nuthin'.
I chanelled my two tonner right along its flanks so it would slot straight under the Porker; chopped the handle down for quicker lifts, moon disc-ed the castors, Frenched the oil filler hole and shot a two pack kustom scallop scheme on the chassis.
Final touch was a set of Appleton spots- mounted so I could see under the car in the dark...........Yeeeehaaaaa!!!!!!
