boba -- your speedster project looks fantastic. Keep up the good work! Do you have an end-use in mind? With that suspension and brakes looks like you'll be on the track. just WOW!

BTW what part of TX are you in? I'd luv to visit your project some time.

Thanks for the nice comments.

Jeremy, I am in DFW, the car will get some time at Motorsports Ranch, but it will be mostly street driven (fair weather). Some hill country trips I'm sure.

A quick update on my car.

The wheels and tires are now on the car. It still needs to get aligned and corner balance before I can drive it. I ended up going with the Goodyear f1 gs-d3 tires since the kuhmo mxs were out of stock and the 285/40/17 tire for the rear is limited in other brands.

Since I'm using coil-overs, my main concern was clearance issues with the springs and the lip of the front fenders (the fender lips where shaved before paint). Together with Lindsey and fellow pelicanite Doug W. we worked out a backspacing of 6 1/4 since I'm using turbo hubs as well. At the moment, clearance all around looks good, but won't know the last configuration until the car is aligned.

Here is a pic with the wheels and tires installed.

Fernando,
Looks good! It will undoubtedly get lower, once you bring it to Jae. This is mine 10 2005.

Fernando-

I saw your car down at Dieter's this morning--absolutely stunning! You did a fabulous job on it. Bring it out to a PCA-SDR event soon and let people drool over it.

Thanks for the compliments!!!

I'm hoping Steve Grosekemper can work his magic and gets the engine running in tip-top shape.

The SD PCA has set up a Porsche corral for the upcoming Coronado Speed Festival (got my corral pass in the mail yesterday), looking forward to it and hope to see you there.

Tom,

My car is home now and it has never ran better! Steve definitely came through. The prognosis was a bad chain tensioner and faulty injectors, even though I had them cleaned before installing them. The local machine shop that did the top end cooperated with Steve and provide him a new tensioner.

I also want to thank you for putting a good word for me at Dieter's, it was my first time there.

My 74 RSR bodied PRC GT-L car is just about finished. Took her out on the track (Thunderhill) last Friday for a shakedown.

Any updates on those 17 inch centerlock reproductions of RSR wheels? I ask only because I have a car very similar to Matteo's and will be looking to go full RSR down the road. Thanks- mpeastend

Thumbs up

Wow!! That looks awesome!! Details please!! I am building something that should look like that... Do you have details you can share???

Where did the body panels come from?
Can you post photos of the build process? I would love to see how the rear parts were attached.
Can you post photos of how the front fenders are attached to the car (on the side closer to the door, from inside the wheel well...)?
Can you post photos of the rear under side (to see the bumper from under the car, the setup for the exhaust, etc.)
What are you using for wheels? Tires specs? Spacers?
What rear arms are you using? Stock, Turbo?
Where, how do you fuel that puppy!!??

Please!!!!! Please!!!

Thank you!
Jaime
