73 updating to SC trailing arms and calipers?????

I was told that I need the E-Brake from the later year, that my 73 stock set up wont work with the later trailing arms. Is this case?

Thanks

Richard

check the p/n's on PET if no one replies

I posted a bunch of what works with what a loong long looooonnnngggg time ago - doubt if you'll be able to find it on the search engine.

doubt if it is the e-breake - more likely CV joint matching

I do know you can put '77 arms on a 73.5 - I did it.

No brake issues with mine either ('76 arms into '73). E brake shoes are the same, as are the calipers. You should be able to use the stub axles from the '73 for CV compatibility. You'll need shorter 14mm lower shock bolts. THe shocks mount to the steel arms with a bolt and nut. They're threaded into the aluminum arms (no nut) and the older bolt will bottom. I think it needs to be at least 5 mm shorter, but measure to be sure.

Good luck

Joe

Just remembered -- You'll need a new hard brake line from the hose to the caliper -- here's a link with pictures and part numbers.
