turn signal flashing too rapidly????
I installed new bumpers front and rear, and after installing the signal lights in the front bumper I get a real fast flasher...not a slow flashing like before.
Does anyone else have any experience w/this? is there a fix for it. The original lights had both the side marker or parking lights and then the signal lights but now the lights need to act as both parking and signal lights. My past experience w/other vehicles tells me that either the flasher is going out or that one of the other bulbs has gone out. But all lights are working just flashing too rapidly.

Just a thought!
Try upping the wattage on the globes to slow it down?

I had the same issue when a tail light bulb was corroded. I'd guess a bulb is either out or isn't making contact.

all other bulbs work...I think that NYNE11 might be onto something though since I originally had 2 other bulbs for the parking lights that maybe I am not drawing enough voltage fot them to flash properly. I am going to try the higher wattage bulbs...see if that helps any. Thanks for the responses....and of course if any other ideas come to mind let me know,
Thanks

Whenever this has happened to me, removing the bulb and cleaning the contacts and then re-installing it has fixed the problem.

One of the lights are out when it flashes like that.

My turn signals are flashing too fast after replacing my driving lights with brake ducts. Since all four turn signals work, I guess the disconnected driving lights are causing the problem. Does this sound correct? Any easy work around when removing the driving lights?

bad turn signal relay will cause this as well, but i'm guessing it's a result of the work you did in this case.

I plugged the driving lights back in, replaced a bad tail light bulb, made sure all the other lights are working and they're still flashing fast
![]() I guess I'll try a new turn signal relay.

it's probably good to cheak if you have an earth leak as well, thats another reason to make the indicator bulb flash fast.

If I can find the turn signal relay, I'll change it. Bentley shows it to be behind the oil temp/pressure gauge so I pulled it out and I can't see crap. Is this where it is and if so where exactly? Thanks!

it's back there..you may have to remove the adjacent instrument in the cluster as well to reach it if i recall. anyway, there's a couple of relays back there. look in the pelican parts catalog, they may have a picture of it.

I found the easiest way to get to the relay is open the hood and you can access it behind the guage on the right side.

If you have deleted some of the lights that originally flashed when the turn signals were on, then it probably is a draw issue.. Less lights= less amps.. It is the amperage that makes the flasher flash. Be careful if you decide to put in higher wattage lamps to compensate. Plastic lenses could melt as a result..

I finally got around to messing with it. It was the flasher relay. The easiest way to change the relay was reaching through from the trunk. It's the first relay when reaching in from the truck or the relay farthest from the instruments.

Funny, that's exactly what the ricers like on their cars, fast turn signals!

What I thought too. Must be the relay. See it on the kids ricers all the time.
