Mid TN Fun Run #3 - Cal Turner TN Tubs event... AWESOME!!!

Who needs Kah-li-fo-nia?!

I am a native, so I am not being totally disrespectful to you Cali guys. Just got in from the Cal Turner event. Awesome event.... It was a 356 event, but there were some awesome Porsches from all vintages well represented. Heck there were even some Ferraris in the non-Porsche parking area, some jags, and Cal's absolutely gorgeous Aston Martin. David Bailey and Chuck Sertich got some photos as well. When they send them to me I will post some up.

As a side note, Cal had a Ruf Turbo there (I think it was a 993 base), among a few other Ruf models. But this one was extra special to me. It was some kind of forest green metallic color. Absolutely beautiful - never seen a color like it before. Anyone have any idea what the actual name of the color is?

Wish I could have met a few more of you from the list there, but I was paying more attention to the cars today. :thumbup: We are going to post soon for the next Mid TN Fun Run (#3). We would like to ask everyone interested to email me the #1 and #2 Saturdays that work for you. Also, we are trying to decide the next run's destination. The choices that have been presented so far are:

1. a run to the Ozarks somewhere.

2. a run down to Tupelo to visit this car museum and restoration shop.

3. a run up to Bowling Green to visit the Corvette museum.

4. or we could just do another run down the 13 form Buffalo again and keep it a little more local again.

I hope Chuck Sertich got a pic of the blue 65 coupe. I got talking with the geltleman who was the owner - the original owner. He bought it new back in 65 I guess, and has kept it bone stock original all of these years. I hope he won something at the show. He was my choice.

That was yours! That was one of my older son's favorite cars out there today. How funny, we used your car to explain to my 6yo son what a spoiler was and why they are on cars. Beauty of a car!

Yeah, finally had San Clemente weather in Tennessee... it was 75-80, sunny, and no humid air to speak of.

Thanks for the complement. I was flying solo for the Tubs event. The weekend was overbooked for everone so we decided to devide and conquer.

wngwie1 - where are you in H'ville and what's your car look like? Are you a PCA member? We can put you on the e-mailings list.

The 997GT3RS belongs to a PCA member here in Huntsville. You have a shot of him in the picture directly above the CGT pictures.



Speaking of the CGT, Cal has 2 of them, what is the color on the one parked by the Rufs? That is the strangest color on any vehicle I have ever seen. Sort of a primer light grey/green/tan. Very different.

Ah shoot, someone told me yesterday the name of that color, and I cannot think of it. If David Bailey sees this, he might chime in... I think he was the one telling me. Oh wait a minute, I think someone called it Sandstone.
