Thinking of running Fikse 17" on an SC - what is max tire size?
I've got my eye on a set of used Fikse FM10s
The current owner suggests that I may not be able to run them on my SC. What is the max 17" rim width for SC front and rear and associated 17" tire specs that will fit. Thanks

I have Fikse FM10's (7.5 X 17 and 9 X 17) on my SC.
225/45/17 in front (215s in the picture) 255/40/17 in the back These fit with no fender rolling or tire rubbing. Beautiful wheels. You'll love them. ![]()

I have a set of 8x17 and 9x17 FM10s for my SC. Offsets are +31.3 mm and +18.6 mm front and rear, respectively. I have run the same size tires as Moses in the Kumho Victoracer, and also 225-45-17 and 245-40-17 in Hoosier R6.
I had to roll my front fender lips to avoid rubbing on the track. Make sure the offsets are correct.

Max? I would assume 8s and 9s with 245/40 and 275/40-17s. You might be able to fit something bigger, but I doubt it.

we have 8 and 9.5 wheels running 245 and 275 tires, but it is a very tight fit and requires some work so I would only recommend it for a racecar

I have 235/45/17 Toyo front, and 275/40/17 rear Toyo's RA1, tight with rolled fenders front and back, however you will love the wheels...
![]() Talk to Mr. Fikse, he sets up the size for you. regards

Moses and others
If I look at these wheels, what offset should I look for (front and back) and how do I measure it?
Another way to ask this: They are currently used by the owner of a 944 Turbo. If they fit a 944 Turbo, will they fit my SC?

I've put together a list of what works here
the bigger you go in width the more work is involved and the more critical the o/s is. 944 wheels are divided into early low p/s thru '86 and late high o/s '87 up. the early 944 7 & 8s can be used on the front of an SC w/o spacers. or on the back w/ spacers. all opf the late 944 wheels can be used at either end w/ varoious spacers.

I'm running 18" TTs on my 77. The car is a wide body but they would work on a narrow body car too.

On my 89 Carrera I have Fikse FM-10s in 17x9.5 on 255s in the rear with absolutely no issues. Not sure if it is the same as the SC body.

I am increasingly convinced that 225/40 or 235/40 on 8 or 8.5 and 255/40 or 265/40 or 265/35 on 9 or 9.5 is the perfect setup for all around use on a 911, 964 or 993

Bill, would a 265 tire have given me a wider look (over the 255) or am I splitting hairs?

It's all a balancing act width vs height and wheel well dimensions. A 275/35 would be great but none are available, 275/40 is great for track use but can be difficult to fit and it's height makes it a relatively poor street tire. Further it really would rather have a wider 10-11" wheel which makes fitmment even harder. In 17 both 265/40 and 265/35 are available, they are a good compromise of width/height and available room.
