1981 SC failed smog today, guess why?

Thats right, two years ago it failed for the same reason, cracked seal, but I was able to buy just the seal from a part supplier. This time around I had to purchase a new cap. Thats ok, I always worry when this time of year rolls around. Two years ago it was a gross polluter I can live with just having to buying a new cap.

What? Last time I had an emission test done in MD in an '86 Carrera it took 3 inspectors to find my engine! I'm guessing CA is a little more strict?

$25.00 for a gas cap?!

I left mine on a gas pump the first time I gassed up. A friend told me that a Chrysler Corp. cap also fits (the auto parts store guy looked up the cap on a chart). I think it cost about 8 bucks.

Some OEM stuff come with a price tag.
Guess how much that manual crank to open or close a sunroof is?
We had a law like that hear, I think it was 25 years or later were except from smog, our govenator took care of that though, I think it stopped at 1974.
