Will the 993 coil pack work on a twin-plug SC engine?
I'm wondering if the 993 coilpack will work on my motor. It's smaller, cleaner, cheaper, and still available new. The motor is a 3.5 using two Bosch CDI boxes and 2 (old) stock coils with a 964 distributor that Steve Weiner converted to work with a non-Motronic engine. Anyone have any experience or thoughts as to why this would or wouldn't work? I've search the forums extensively and found nothing.
Thanks in advance! ![]() |

I cant imagine why it wouldnt work. Its basically just two coils on a bracket.

Well, thats not a good idea,......
![]() The Bosch coils wound for CD usage have a totally different turns ratio than coils made for inductive ignitions (993) that will really limit performance when used like that. ![]() Use Bosch or MSD High-vibration Blaster coils,.... ![]()

That should be NO problem, as the turns ratio is the typical CDI turns ratio of 100.
