3.6 to 3.8 engine upgrade? - need advice

About half a year ago I bought my C4 with known broken headstud from Jason Cullen here - great deal, great guy!

Long story short - I finally got it back a month ago from a top end rebuild from a local shop here in Norway (good reputation +++)
After 1200 miles - I took it in again for a service and regular check up - the mechanic took it for a test drive and it ends up making a rather rattling noise

The local shop wants to send it to a Porsche specialist - put it on insurance - they are even willing to give me a 3.8 kit as a "compensation"
If I do the 3.8 - is there anything more internal I should upgrade at the same time? Is there much to gain at all in overall performance with just the 3.8 cylinders?
I know for a fact that here in Norway the car unfortunately wont gain a higher resale value with this installed.....

3.8s are especially nice on the street because of their torque.

If you use the slipfit cylinders then no additional internal work is needed. But you should do cams, valves, guides, possibly cleaning upo the ports and chip as a minimum additionally.

If you use the RSR cyliders then the case needs to be bored and you might as well do a full crankout rebuild w/ ARP or Raceware rodbolts new bearings etc. + the top end stuff listed above.

The rods crank etc. are all the same as used in the GT2 and are fine unless you are building a pure race engine that will live above 7000 all the time.

There is some welding of the lower fins on the heads that should be done to promote longevity,
