I went to replace my fuel check valve today and did not see one on the fuel pump! Am I looking in the wrong spot or does this car have one?

According to PET, the check valve isn't used on the SC, only Carrera.

Mark,

I assumed it would be since everyone says you may need to replace it and it shows the check valve on Pelican's part diagrams...HMMMM

It is, however on the 80' and specific to the 80' you don't have one per say. The check valve is built into the elongated snout of the 80' fuel pump. If you were to replace the pump with the same part number, you would have the divorced check valve. Madness I know.

At this point you really need to get a set of gauges on there to determine where the failure is. The pump is expensive, however worth it if the internal valve has failed.

Scott,

Thank you Sir for the sound advice...I will invest is a set of gauges.

Would you happen to know what the small spring is inside the 17mm nut? When I removed the 17mm nut holding the fuel line to the pump, inside of it was a very small spring wedge sidway in the nut.

Just thought I would post a final note on this. I did replace the check valve along with fuel pump and have absolutely no issues with starting. It actually starts better that it ever has.
