If you decide to go with SC I think I would pass. I already have a rear deck emblem for that. If your gonna dominate the world you shouldn't be afraid to call the car what it is. Super Carrera :)

The badge on the car says 911SC.

#2 "Porsche 911SC" for me.

When I think of a "Super Carrera", I think of a 356. I would not want any confusion of who is doing the the World Domination!:)
We'd flip if a Super Carrera SCWDP Badge showed up on a 356.

When I think of a Porsche 911SC, I think of SCWDP........mwuahhhhaaaaa!

Even if SC really stood for Super Carrera, I still prefer just using the SC initials because 911SC only means one period of car...... and that's US........Mwuahhhaaaaaaaaaa!!!! (Did I spell that right?)

I didn't forget, I just got tied up with other things. I will measure the pins today.

Monday morning bump. Looks like the Super Carrera's are winning out on this one. I would not mind getting 2 different badges made up, but we would have to have preconfirmed orders for 40 units each.

A couple of quick questions:
First, will these be metal and if so, what kind and also cast, billet, or stamped? This is mostly just out of curiosity, but may effect my choice of design.

Second, will they include hardware to fasten them without modification or damage to the grill? (Not that I'd ever want to take off the badge and renounce my SCWDP status, its just hard to dominate the world when you're feeling bad about drilling holes in a 25+ year old car.)

BTW: Nice work on the new site. It looks good (from IE anyway).

UPDATE!

I placed a deposit today to have the prototype made. I hate to keep dragging this out, so for now, I have to play the majority rules here and at this point, it will be design #3. I will leave the poll up for the rest of today, but tomorrow, I need to get the final word to the badge maker. It will take from 3-6 weeks to get badges once the final design is in to them.


Bob Butler asked about construction. They are metal, and are stamped pieces with other finish work applied. I can get more details if anyone needs them.

As far as attachment, they typiclly come with a single post that is 3-4 inches long and allows easy through the grille attachment, which should not need any drilling. We are actually trying to work it out so that ours will be double post and spaced appropriately to be used as a replacement front hood badge - this was due special request earlier. For those using it on rear grille, the second post will hopefully be such that both will fit through the grille. This in the end, will be our determining factor for how we set the badge up. We want them to fit the grille first, the front badge mount second (if it can be done).

In a way, after the SC's, it did...the SC is the perfect example of balance--the carrera's started the perpetual slide to comfort.

So I think it is definitely fitting.

HA HA HA! I do like that! I shopped Carreras before learning about SCs and when I did, I chose SC over Carrera for that exact reason :).

Actually, I have no interest in newer Porsches and would own an even older and lighter one than my SC if I was mechanically adept enough to keep it running as a daily driver (the only reason I've ever owned sports cars was to drive them every day).

Got a tea tray though, no place for a badge (gotta keep the Porsche crest on my hood).

Sold the C5 when I bought the SC. Big and porky, almost as fat as the newer Porsches, boring car below 125 or more (except for rocket lunches, which got boring also after 8000 miles and a $1400 set of tires). As exciting around town as a Jeep Grand Cherokee (and just as long), but VERY comfortable!.

SC's a totally different llittle animal, fun even when you're forced to toodle around town, short spurts to 45 max maybe, 'cause you can play with the gearbox, make all sorts of racket and pretend you're in race traffic under yellow, chompin' at the bit waitin' for the green ta fly!

Aaah, the simple pleasures of a basic little sports car :)
