The guy from the badge company sent this to me today. This should be very close to the actual finished product...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1183609485.jpg

Bob Butler 07-04-2007 10:30 PM

How soon can we get them, and for how much?
--Bob

PS: Thoughts on the "2007" anyone? Start of a collection? Look better without it, maybe?

I also think we should drop the "2007"

SCWDP911 07-05-2007 01:47 AM

thanks for the merge Noah

Ron.G 07-05-2007 04:49 AM

2007 drop also.

SCWDP911 07-05-2007 04:57 AM

Alright guys, with regards to the 2007...

I had it in there just as a means of an annual badge type deal. I am not "married" to it though, so, as much as I hate to do another poll, I am going to start another poll. It will be today only, as I want to get the production started. It will be 3-6 weeks once I give the final "go ahead". Rather than start the poll on yet another SCWDP thread, just chime in here and say yay or nay on the 2007 designation...

So far, I have Ron G. and Kroggers that say nay...

Thanks!

911michael 07-05-2007 05:06 AM

2007 = Nay

cashflyer 07-05-2007 05:14 AM

Nay.

What about just creating a new badge/logo design each year?

Need to keep the design pretty much the same to "develop the brand" so to speak.

I would imagine that if we do away with the "2007" that would eliminate set up costs for future runs.

Therefore.... Nay to the "2007".

jwerion 07-05-2007 05:36 AM

I also say drop the 2007 I just don't see that many people putting 2,3,4,5,6+ years worth of more or less the same badge on thier car. I am sure a few would purchase them just to have them but again
"Nay on the 2007 or any date"

2007 BADGE...

Nay for "07"...

SCWDP911 07-05-2007 06:35 AM

Well that is looking pretty much like the nay's are going to have it. I like what was said about just letting the design speak for itself, if it was redesigned on an annual basis. Thanks for the input guys. Looks like we will be dateless.

For those that spoke of hood badges... I have the measurement now, but honestly I am not sure if the 2 posts are horizontal or vertical in orientation. Can someone clarify for me please?

Thanks...

Looks like im gonna have to drill two little holes in my fiberglass hood.....

2007 NAy

SCWDP911 07-05-2007 08:48 AM

The Nays have it...

I will post some pics when the prototype is done along with ordering info.

As far as the shirts, stickers, etc., still working out the details on those...

Mitch Leland 07-05-2007 10:07 AM

Have you thought about "Polo shirts"?

Heeeeey! I like that idea.

Bob Butler 07-05-2007 12:41 PM

+1 on the shirts

SCWDP911 07-05-2007 12:48 PM

As far as a polo shirts go, what kind of logo? I would probably be inclined to do something simple like the "SCWDP", just like it is in the middle of the badge design...

Mitch Leland 07-05-2007 05:15 PM

My preference would be to put the logo on the front left hand side over the "heart" area. For me just the "SCWDP" without the rest of the logo wouldn't mean anything to anyone else. I think the "SCWDP" might be just a little too subtle or understated.

Mitch Leland 07-05-2007 06:12 PM

I think the number two logo on the front of a white polo shirt would be very cool.

Goosh 07-05-2007 06:37 PM

Goosh is in for decals (not x-bones) and three Tees! Thanks for the great work! Would like the 2nd decal with color, if possible ... definitely worth the extra cost, whatever it is.

Let me know!

flatsixnut 07-05-2007 06:47 PM

There is no way I would put anything in place of the Porsche crest on the hood. But I am definitely up for putting a badge on my engine. I am also up for stickers and shirts.

Michael

Clarke 07-05-2007 08:24 PM

I like all three designs. I dig the skull design as well. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/pirate.gif
I'm in for shirts and stickers of all three.

Bob Butler 07-05-2007 08:27 PM

For the polo shirts, I'd go with the same design as the badges, maybe adding German flag striping behind the "SCWDP" in the center of the circle instead of just black, just to give it a little color (way too many monotonic polo shirt embroidery out there). I'm also liking the idea of the polos being white, maybe with the small checkerboard woven into the cuffs and around the collar. That way we can extend our domination beyond the race tracks and into the board rooms.

SCWDP Forever!

Mitch Leland 07-05-2007 08:42 PM

I love it...

SCWDP911 07-05-2007 09:46 PM

I have a lady here that has done some work for me in a past life as a Miata guy. She did a really nice job with the stuff I put together. I can check with her tomorrow or Monday and find out about pricing on polo type shirts. Personally, I am now thinking about drilling a couple of small holes in my "yet-to-be-installed" ducktail lid, and mounting my badge there...

Kroggers 07-05-2007 10:17 PM

When do we get the order form for all the good SCWDP stuff :)

Moke81 07-06-2007 07:09 AM

Approx., What are the dimensions of the badge.
I would display all three types, just curious of the size.
______________
1981 SC Coupe

SCWDP911 07-06-2007 07:31 AM

Moke81, The badges will be 3" in diameter.

SCWDP911 07-06-2007 07:50 AM

badge update

Here is the final art of the badge (with the 2007 removed). One bit of bad news is that they are not wanting to use the dual mount setup we suggested (to use as hood badge as well). They said they have had too many problems with similar setups in the past. I am not sure why it would be a problem, but looks like it will be a single stud mount.

Moke81 07-06-2007 12:01 PM

V8, nice work, put me on the list, badges and shirts.

SCWDP911 07-06-2007 12:13 PM

Thanks Moke and others. Hope the final product turns out as nice as the artwork! I have one more detail to work out on the mount and then hopefully I can post the actual ordering info for this in about 3 weeks. I hope to have the shirts, et al, ready soon as well, but still working with a couple of printers to get the details ironed out. Will let you know on that as well.

Have a nice weekend all!

12own911 07-06-2007 01:57 PM

Hi, any girl-ly shirts or will they all be men's?

SCWDP911 08-12-2007 07:14 PM

Just making one last notification on the SCWDP threads we have "all" enjoyed... From here on out it will be via email distribution list we have tallied, or on the classified or OT forum. Thank you Noah for bearing with this madness!

The deadline for the badge order is this Tuesday, 8/14. Please see the thread for more info if you haven't already seen it all:

Thanks all!
