Hey guys, is anyone around MA still driving their car? I have a prototype product that I'd like to have someone put some miles on, if anyone is up for trying out some parts.

"Breakfast Club" @ F1
Hi guys,
We are all set for F1 for tomorrow. Again please be there at 1:00, as we have to reg., lic, waivers. and time to suit up. We have a full group so we have the track to ourselves. We will be running on track #2, which is the country course. There will be a sign at the entryway with SEMBC mini grand prix, that will direct you where to go. Look forward to seeing you all! Paul.

Sembc @ F1
A day at F1 was a great way to spent a snowy winter Sunday. Thanks to all who joined us! Some claimed that some of the boys did not play fair. I ask you to look at picture and see if you see any problems. After my close inspection, I think we may have a few issues to resolve before next time.

Last time I went (in Dec.), it wasn't the ribs but the hands that were toast. I couldn't grip the wheel anymore halfway through the final. Been working the handgrips since.

I thought I was the only softy there - I was not prepared for that kind of workout.
I lost all feeling from my elbows down after the second run. And next time I am bringing water ! Lots of fun though. Thanks Paul.

Working on 2008 "Breakfast Club" runs. Would like some thoughts from you guys on this. Would a set monthly run, ie 2nd Sat. of each month be easier for your scheduling purposes? Or don't you care and we continue on random basis. Starting time: most runs have been meeting around 8:30, would you like to start earlier? Sat versus Sun? Stops, serveral runs I scheduled pit stops along route, should I continue this practice, cut back on stops, etc. Distance on runs, most runs have been designed to be in a general area, should we expand. For instance a run out to the western part of the state, etc. Would really like your thoughts to make this year even more fun than last year. If you would like to lay out a route for a run I will work with you and do notification work.
Also, putting together a Spring overnight run to Vermont/NH area will post as it gets organized - interested? Thank you for your participation last year! Paul ![]()

S.e.m.b.c.
John,
Yes, got your email address. I think Portsmouth, N.H. would be a great spot to start from. Most of us could get there in a little over 1 hour. Something in lower eastern part of N.H.. ..and lower western part of Maine would be great. If you are willing to work with me on this lets' try to plan it for our May run. We should try to set the actually run up for about 2-2.5 hrs, with a lunch stop. I still remember blasting up rt. 4 to UNH in my MGA some 40 years ago, top down and wind in the hair, no wind in the hair these days-folliclelly challenged......................... Do you have dates on ALMS, Lime Rock - that would be fun also! regards, Paul,

That would be a good area.
16 / Spaulding Tpk. out to UNH from Portsmouth is a nice rd. Newberryport is also a nice area - maybe we could stop in to check out the Vintage Seats guys ? Lime Rock is sch for July 11th - 12th. I'll see if my folks want to put up a gang like they used to back in the day . We could do a BBQ there at least and there are FANTASTIC drives from Hillsdale over the mountain to Rt 41.

Here is my list
No particular order:
Run up to Conway NH with an overnight at base of Loon Mountain in Lincoln NH. Home of the Kangamangus Highway! Run to Quechee Gourge with meal for significant others at Simon Pierce Mill Tech season up to Sunapee NH to check out some racecar builds on a cellete bench. Trip to Matha's Vinyard with Porsches on ferry, can visit the site of the infamous bridge in Kennedy history. Instead of driving off of bridge, we will just hit the RGRUPPE rocket boosters and fly over it at speed. Trip to Auto Associates in Canton CT so that we can check up on Callahan and make sure he gets his car back sometime in this decade, I fear he is being held hostage at gunpoint!~ Last edited by RPMClassic; 02-07-2008 at 07:29 AM.. |

Paul, a few random thoughts.
I think early Sunday morning runs are good as the traffic seems to be lighter, although a few later starting drives drives either Sat. or Sun. that include a lunch stop would be nice to break things up. Stopping every hour would be good to relieve the "too much coffee" syndrome. The drives that others have suggested sound like fun, as would an all day run around the Quabbin Reservoir area. Occasional drives to an event would be good, i.e. Lime Rock (Memorial Day weekend, ALMS, Vintage Festival), the Mount Washington Hillclimb etc. There used to be a great vintage hillclimb at the Honeywell estate in Wellesley the weekend before or after Mother's Day, but I'm not sure that they still have it.
