Searching progress in the forum - what is wrong??

Hi,
sorry - maybe it is the wrong section but I did not know where to post it. If doing a search for example in the market place for parts there only show up a few items and very old threads also there are newer ones to the theme (i.e Fuchs)? I do not guess that I'm making a mistake in the searching progress - the same as ever. So what is wrong´or is that a well known fact/mistake?
Thanks anyway.

The problem is that your English is a little confusing.

You might try a re-post in German - several here speak it.

OR:
- When you do a parts search, you find some very old threads, but not new ones. Is that right?

You know there are some new ones (if so, how?) but they are not found in the search. Is that right?

Not sure what the issue is

Search returns posts in reverse chronological order, last first etc.

Additionally You have options to limit search to a single forum and/or time frame.

I would use a wildcard for plural, ie "Fuch*" instead of "Fuchs"

One can't simply enter a key word on one line only. If you do, you just get the current page of whatever forum you choose for your search. You have to enter a word on at least 2 lines. I find this rather annoying, but there's always the quick search on every forum page. This will take one word of 3 letters or more. You might try that one.

Ok,
sorry for confusing. Maybe my explanation was not so good and I see this is not an entire problem.
RWebb is right. The problem is that if I have a look on todays marketplace for Fuchs rims in example I found several and actual threads and offers. If I do a search for the rims to see for example what was offered up to 1 month ago - the actuall rims do not show up . Very old threads and they get chronological older. It is starting with the date 04.05.2006!! The search criterias are right and it also worked great in the past (last week I guess).

basic search-911 used parts....-any date (and newer)-last posting date (decending order)....

If I searched for "930" in the market place I normally got hundreds of actual posts. Now the newest is of date 07.11.2005.
This is on both search options - the quick search on the forum page and the "normal" search.
I hope now the matter is clear. Too bad that it seems to be "a single" problem. I will try another PC but this is strange anyway.
Thanks

There is a problem with the search feature right now. I've noticed that some of the threads are not being pulling into the search even though they have the keyword. I have a couple of searches that I run routinely, and I've noticed this problem a couple of weeks ago.

The same server problem that makes connecting to Pelican is probably screwing up the search feature. Posting can be a hit or miss thing these days, as the server can freeze up. I've noticed multiple redundant threads posted, because the server freezes up and folks keep hitting the submit button, hoping to unfreeze it.

There is a problem....
