For some reason on my blackberry the text defaults to a huge size.
The old site didn't have this issue.

On the laptop everything looks good.

Any chance the "Pelican Parts Technical BBS vBulletin 3 Style" forum skin could be given the functionality the default skin has?

Speed is nice and the 'preview' of the threads is also nice.

Effort toward this valuable resource is really appreciated!

Little glitch -

Just tried to post in OT - refresh forum topics, shows I responded. Click the thread and my response isn't there.

Do a "find all posts by xxx" and my post shows.

WTF?

Wayne,

BBS is working great.

I noticed you removed the "Post New Topic" from the bottom of the thread pages. Good move. Maybe you might consider removing it from the top of the thread pages as well. I noticed someone just posted a reply as a new topic by accident even after the change. Removing it from the thread page may finally put an end to replies that end up as new threads by accident. If someone wants to post a new topic they can very easily return to the forum page with the listing of threads and click the "Post New Topic" button there.

The only complaint that I can come up with is my demotion from "Village Iconoclast" to "Registered User." http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/sad2.gif

Oh wait, one more... the "More Smilies" emoticons are not going into the message automatically (have to cut and paste).

Otherwise very nice.:)

Nope, it's right there on top next to FAQ.

Members list doesn't have the search function it used to have.

But, it's great!! Thanks.

Yes, it does - it's off to the right side...

The absolute best way is to go to a place like and host the image there, it takes about 30 seconds to do. Then you simply use the picture button on the toolbar, or you do this:

"" without the quotes. You can also use the web space provided to you for free by most ISP's. Doing this removes some of the size limitations set by the BBS.

And BTW, Wayne, the new BBS is amazing. The layout is excellent, and the speed is amazing for VB.

NO. I would advise against this, as if those images are cleared out, then it creates broken links in threads that are searched into the future. Everyone should only use the upload feature here...

We could use a Next Page 'button' like before -- not just a small 2 when you're on 1, or a small 4 when you're on 3...

Yes, I that was a custom modification that I put in last time - it's on my list, perhas for tonight...

Nope, too much work. I will probably remove that as an option...

Your computer might be caching the old page - try a refresh?

I changed these pages today, they are probably cached on your computer - right-click and refresh, and you will see the new ones that work with the new bbs. The addition of the smilies work fine for me:

Now that I can "preread the post" I am less susceptible to open it. Is that a good thing?

I just restored everyone's custom names. Not sure why this got lost in the conversion...

Then what about adjusting the restrictions? I can't get the image quality I like for diagnosing problems problems with your upload restrictions. For a good 800x600 image I have to host it myself. The re-sizing function you employ is problematic for me.

EDIT: I have to take this back, looks like it's been a while since I used this system, and most bords don't even off this, but it appears that in the years since I joined in 01 you have increased the limits.

Wayne -
light years ahead in response, must have taken over 15.4 gigawatt's to the flux-capacitor, or whatever you computer heads call all that hardware and software stuff.

the board and its services are much appreciated.
thanks for providing the service to us.

keep up the good work.

I'm still not being able to PM or email a poster. Which icon do you click for that ? I have a Mac G4 with OSX using Safari. For some reason it (Safari) crashes when I click some of the icons or the poster's name. Any advice from Mac guys?

Otherwise this new update is wonderful...!

Are the custom avatars gone forever?

edit: Never mind, found it. Whew!
