Thanks Art! Hopefully I'll be able to take a few weeks off work soon and put some real time into the project. Still have a lot of parts to order like new seals(all of them), headliner, possibly another race seat for the passenger side, harnesseseses. Then I'll have to recover the door panels and dash.................................it never ends.
Tom

Nice dude! Sweet project.
Forum: What is the best way to fix that rear bumper? And what is the best way to attach lights on the the front fenders. Wouldn't a thorough sand blast to the hood and a little patch hold well? Regards,

Bernard, I'm still thinking of how I want to mount the rear bumper. Obviously, I'll use part of the existing system where the ends are attached to the quarter panels, but for the center I'll have to fabricate something. It will probably be some pieces of 90 deg. angled sheetmetal with captured nuts and countersunk screws through the fiberglass into them.
As far as the hood, the holes are just pinholes and a little zap from the mig welder should do the trick. I'd be hesitant to sandblast any large, flat piece of sheetmetal for fear of warping it. Tom

I buckled and just gave Dave @ TRE the call for one of his longhood conversion hoods. I've got so many parts in the mail I don't know where I'm gonna put it all

got some new parts in
and decided to fiddle with the car a little. Waiting on my hood from TRE which should be here this week.
Got these from TRE as well: ![]() And these from Rennspeed: ![]() trial fit of both: ![]() ![]() Then, just for kicks I decided to hack up a '67 swb fender I had: ![]() 5 minutes later ![]() Trial fit to my SC fender ![]() ![]() I'm sure I'll have to jockey things around a bit one my new hood is on, but it was nice to see how it may possibly look. Stay tuned ![]()
