Turbo "chirp" when shifting

What is the "chirp" "chirp" noise I hear when some turbo cars shift gears?
Why don't I hear this with the 930 when they are shifted, is it because the pop valve is not vented to atmosphere?
Thanks.
Len

OOPS, wrong forum. Sorry guys, this should be in the Turbo forum.
Mr Moderator, can you move this please?

You'd be surpised, I suspect you'll get an answer from here just as fast. There are lots of turbo folks around.

You're hearing the BOV (blow-off valve). The BOV on our Infiniti's supercharger is a dead give-away.

930's re-circulate the air back into the intake. Thus it does not go into the automsphere and make the noise.
