915 Gearbox from PHII problemes - HELP

Hello,
after a lot of work I finally made it to finish my car. It is a 914-6 with 3.2 engine, 46carbs, etc and a 915 gearbox. This was made from PHII and Roger Brown was the man behind it and who gave me all the advices. Now after the dyno test, I drove the car back and suddenly while standing in the 3rd gear it made a very nasty noise from the gearbox and now it sounds like a coffee maschine crushing beans. So I guess there is something broken in it. Now I have a few problems:
I need the parts very quick (but I'm located in Europe), as soon as I know what is wrong I can order, but WHERE? Does PHII still exist? What happened? Where can I reach them. I have very short and cross drilled gears, so no OEM Porsche. I do not know right now, what is the right decission or not. Do you think I could get the same stuff (where) or should I swich to Porsche - but this would be very expensive
I hope you can help me.
Thanks Alex

Hi Alex,
where are you located in Germany. I may be able to get you what you need in Europe.

I'm located near Munich but the car is near Cologne. I'm still checking which Garage could open the gearbox to look what is wrong. But I guess I will need some parts...

Alex, well you need to be more specific. At least you have to know what you exactley need.
Is the tranny already out of the car? do you have any pics and details of what you need?

No, I do not know what is broken - I know that something is wrong. It just happened a few hours ago after driving the car from the dydno test back into a garage. I'm not at my car, that is 400 miles away from me. I want to open and inspect it asap and order the parts. I just want to check if PHII still exist or where could I get parts - just in case a cross drilled gear is broken. Sorry, but I can't be more specific right now.

You can try a quick search for 'powerhaus 2' on any search engine (ie google.de) and find a direct link. As far as I know they are still in business, but have your shop diagnose the problem before you start opening up your wallet for new parts.

Hi,
well I was also confused because the website from Powerhaus was off. So I expected they are no longer into business. Now it is working. I will open the gearbox on Monday and see what is broken. Then I can order new parts... Hope it is not too much I have to $$
But the dyno test was not worth all the trouble also the result is fine (real 257hp from a 3.2 engine with Weber 46 carbs - set up for more torque - the cams are still "mild" )
Thanks @ all.

PowerHaus is still around, Roger Brown, however, does not work here any longer. Feel free to contact me directly, I am the General Manager here and I will try to do whatever I can to help you.

New, hobbed gears will not tolerate being "broken in" on a dyno. Remaining in one gear on the dyno will cause heat build-up wherever there is a high spot on the gear face. This leads to the loss of heat treatment in that specific area, and problems seriously snowball from there.

The proper way to "normalize" a hobbed gear is on the street, or ... at the very least ... on the track where you are shifting between gears. This is true even with Porsche's latest sequential straight-cut gears.

Using the incorrect lubricant will increase the problem dramatically.
