My new german plaything

Hey all, now that I've finally got my dream machine, I wonder why I've waited so long. Here are some pictures of my black beauty. Thanks to all of you who have posted technical how to articles and our hosts extensive supply of parts , I've already been busy fixin' things and getting greese under my fingernails. This makes tooling around the great garden state almost bearable

Rick

Some guys have all the luck. I've wanted my own ball diamond for years. How do the German ones differ from the North american ones - do they have an extra base?

Hey Rick,

Two questions:

1) Where in NJ?
2) When is your first track day?

Congratulations! Have to agree that '87 is a good vintage. Enjoy the car, I still have to turn the light on to look at mine in the garage every night even now.

Welcome to the world of Porsches Rick,

Where are you located in NJ? I too just bought my first 911, in February of this year.
It's an addicting ownership.

Hi Rick, and welcome.
I guessing from those dock pilings around the park that you are somewhere in south NJ?
Come to the Jersey Shore Region's unique concours this Sunday at Schneider-Nelson (Eatontown) to meet some like-minded enthusiasts. Vacuum the inside and try your hand at a low level event!

Rick,
Beautiful car. The only thing I would suggest is backdating the tranmission to a 915 transmission. That is the only downside of owning a 911 built after 1986. What were the people at Porsche thinking?

Thanks all, I thought I was being obsessive checking on her in the garage. I guess that is "normal". I can't stop grinning when ever I drive it. This was going to be my week-end car, but I can't help driving it as much as I can.
For those Jersians that asked, I live in Old Bridge, smack dab in the center of the state.
I want to make sure that all the parts are working fine before I take it autocrossing. I'm going to be checking/adjusting the valves as soon as my parts come from Pelican.

Excellent decision. Life is too short for Hondas.

Welcome,

Great idea to drive it often, they work better when you do, and these cars won't make money for us, so you might as well enjoy it as much as possible! That is a really sharp looking Carrera, exactly like what I would choose if I could pick up a 3.2.

Funny. I also hear of a LOT of Carrera owners backdating to the 3.0. Must be some kind of fad.
