Photoshop, dude... Alias is back at work, and for what it's worth, I don't like the new PC-based studio paint replacement. Only use Alias for 3d work.
Yeah, the wheels are a bit too big. (I can't believe I just typed that :)) |

I see many improvements, keep them coming guys.

Superb! Looks a bit out of my price range, though so is the Cayman.

But if we're talking about modding the existing Cayman, it might be difficult to fit it on the existing wheel base and keep the g.c., top of fenders and roof, wheel & tires and windshield rake the same :D. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1191197900.jpg Cheers, David |
good poit David. That's why starting fresh would be a better idea. Afterall, that boxter design is 9 years old and not aging very gracefully.

In my opinion, the boxter/caymen have some , how should I say this?- less than desirable inherited attributes. just to name a few, long front overhang, bad wheel tire wheel arch ratio, The cayman S is getting better @ overall wheel and tire package. There's no reason why they should not fit larger wheel/tire package in the base model (other than financial, and maybe ride quality, on the other hand I don't know anybody that buys a Cayman for the ride quality. the "brain tumor" as I call it- the oversize greenhouse arch, I'm guessing is due to using the cowl/windshield from the 911 model, but the Cayman "CO" pillars don't reach back far enough to sweeten the roof line. You add to that the 95th percentile american driver, a not so low "H" point and you got a perfect recipe for a bobble car. As far as working with the existent car, I agree with most of the comments so far. a. better wheel/tire package lower ride height b. move the "B"pillar rearward c. higher rear deck d. lower "lower valance" e. narrower/ longer "D.L.O." |
My gosh Radu, you are so talented!
Your design (which is fantastic) looks like a great evolution of the Lotus Exige. I love it! Porsche would probably take your design and add excess weight, comfort, safety and most of all cost. FWIW, I just test drove an Elise two hours ago. It was AWSOME! I will be setting my sights on a used one someday. Mike |

elises are awesome! there's no substitute for lightweight! there's no real reason for a cayman cowel to be that high (other than the above mentioned). I think the car would benefit from lowering the cowel on the CL. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1191206193.jpg |
