I'm keepin' it ol' skool, cuz it's being posted in the ol'skool 911 forum ;)

Nice sketch, Radu. Very clean, fluid style.

a. better wheel/tire package lower ride height

b. move the "B"pillar rearward

c. higher rear deck

d. lower "lower valance"

e. narrower/ longer "D.L.O."

I agree.

That looks great, but, question - Is it really feasible to lower the roof line that much? How many inches high is it as drawn?

And comment - looks to me to be riding at a height with clearance that would be totally impractical for street use, no?

The wheels and tires look great, but man, those be rubber bands! What do you spec. the wheels & tires to be, as drawn?

The front fender is nice and taut - but it looks like there's very little room for suspension travel for a street car, no?

Picky, picky, picky eh? But that's what it's all about, isn't it? :)

good points David, but I'm talking about a no compromise entery level sports car with supercar performance.
wheel travel is important but have you seen the M3s for the past 5 years? They aew Slammeeed!

here's a pock of my street car. notice the wheel drophttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1191208231.jpg

Like it a lot - clean, concise and certifiably Porsche looking! Looks buildable/streetable as drawn. Drop all the other Piggy Porsches, put the best Porsche engines in this and call it the new 911! (I like how you've taken 500 lbs off using the cf lower panels :D)

Sorry David, got carried away

19" 255/35R19. what if the top of the fender is it's own separate composite piece that's attached and travels up and down with the wheel? Similar to motorcycles/ Ariel Atom

yes I know, it will not be an inexpensive vehicle anymore but I'm allowed to dream;)

Garen 09-30-2007 07:25 PM

Awe maaannnn,..... Now I gotta stay up all night :D

Nice skecth, Radu... What size sway bar are you running on your "beast"?

DARISC, thanks for the comments... In our "day jobs", the kind of sketch I posted happens well after the initial blue sky phase (Radu's sketch). We go far out, and bring it back, vs start conservative & real, and wonder how far we could have pushed it. The sketch works here, because the design feeds off of why we all post here in the first place, the purity and simplicity of the old school P car. Rest assured, if it were between my sketch and Radu's for a job at Style Porsche, I wouldn't be the one having a celebratory beer in Stutgart...

Striking illustration, Radu. But hey, while we're at it - pretty prominant proboscis considering there ain't no engine up there and it just do not look like a grand tourer with fitted luggage in the front trunk :).

Squared off wheel arches ain't my thaing - wheels is roun' an' I think arches is too (didn't like them on the Countache either and I really liked the earlier versions!).

Flat faced wheels leave me flat too (unless we're talkin' salt flat. that is).

Whut are them little silver cars above yours? Sorry, but I'll take one of each of them ones :).

Regards,

HA, HA! Yeah, I'm familiar with the design routine. Purely incidentally, I live a couple miles from Chrysler Pacifica and know several of the stylists and clay modelers there.

Uh, oh - I bet Milt's steaming about his thread being hi-jacked!

Thank Garet! but I am the unemployed one . Remember?

I might sound like a complete moron but I have no idea of the sway bar size. I was too lazy to go look , so I looked through the old pics that I have of the suspention and.......hre it comes - I CAN"T SEE A SWAY BAR

DARISC, cool! Nice sketch!! One of the guys I went to school with works in the Pacifica studio...

Radu, you beat me to it... I just did the exact same overlay on your suspension pic :) I have the same setup (Smart Racing). My bar is the #31. I had a #23 initially, but have since graduated to the big bar... The smaller bar is looking for a home :D

Here's my final contribution tonight:

I'm going to bed. You West-Coasters have a good one!!
